During the 2025/26 season, Afonso Castanheira split his time between União da Serra and União de Leiria. Representing União da Serra in the Campeonato de Portugal, he made 14 appearances and accumulated 916 minutes, demonstrating consistency and valuable experience in senior football. At the same time, he was part of União de Leiria's U23 squad in the Liga Revelação, where he played 7 matches and totaled 207 minutes. A dynamic attacking winger, he is known for his pace, dribbling ability, and versatility in the final third, continuing to establish himself as a promising young talent in Portuguese football.
